When You Outgrow Your Niche (and What Comes Next)
Oct 22, 2025
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about my YouTube channel — and, to be honest, about my business as a whole.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that most of my content has centred around speaking with confidence, presentation skills, and building a coaching business online. It’s what I’ve been teaching, coaching, and talking about for years.
But lately, something’s shifted.
It’s not that I don’t believe in those topics — I absolutely do. They’ve helped thousands of coaches, trainers, and creators find their voice and grow their business. But somewhere along the way, I’ve noticed that the content I want to make, and the conversations I want to have, are starting to feel… broader.
It’s like wearing a jacket that once fitted perfectly but now feels a little tight around the shoulders.
The Truth About Change
That realisation can be uncomfortable — especially when you’ve spent years building a brand, a message, and an audience. There’s a part of you that says, “Don’t rock the boat. Stick with what people expect.” But there’s also another voice — quieter but persistent — that says, “It’s time to evolve.”
And I think that’s the season I’m in right now.
I’ve always believed that great coaching (and great content) starts with authenticity. If you’re not being real — if you’re saying what you think you should say rather than what you need to say — people can sense it. So, for me, this next chapter is about aligning what I create with where I am now, not just where I started.
That doesn’t mean throwing away everything I’ve done before. It means building on it — exploring new conversations around creativity, reinvention, growth, and what it really takes to build a meaningful business in today’s world.
Ask Yourself
If you’ve ever felt this yourself — maybe in your work, your business, or even your personal life — here are a few questions that have helped me recently:
- What parts of my work still energise me, and which parts feel like I’m just going through the motions?
- If I started today, from scratch, what would I want to be known for?
- What conversations am I naturally drawn to right now — even if they don’t ‘fit’ my current niche?
You don’t have to have all the answers straight away. Sometimes, it’s just about noticing the signs that something’s shifting — and giving yourself permission to explore what’s next.
I’ll be doing exactly that over the coming weeks: experimenting, exploring, and seeing where this next phase takes me.
So, if you’ve been following me for a while, thank you — sincerely. And if you’re new here, welcome. You’re arriving at an exciting time.
Here’s to the next chapter.
