How to Choose the Right Way to Work on Camera Confidence

How to Choose the Right Way to Work on Your Camera Confidence

In twenty years of singing, I performed in three different ways. With a band. With just a pianist. And on my own, with a backing track.

With a band, you feed off everyone around you. On your own, there's nowhere to hide, and everything's on you. Neither is better. They're just different.

Coaching works the same way. So if you're wondering whether my small group, From Invisible to Visible, is right for you, or whether you'd be better working with me one-to-one, here are the three questions I'd ask.

1. Do you learn best alongside other people, or with the spotlight fully on you?

In the group, every session has the same shape: I teach something short, you practise it on camera, then you get feedback from me and from the group. You often learn as much from watching someone else get feedback as from your own, and you find out you're not the only one whose mind goes blank when the camera comes on. One-to-one is the solo spot. Every minute is about you.

2. When can you actually turn up?

The group meets live, online, every Wednesday at 3pm UK time for six weeks, starting on 14 October. If you can't make most of those, it's honestly not the right choice, because the live practice is the whole point. One-to-one runs over ninety days, and we arrange sessions around your diary.

3. How far do you want to go, and what can you invest right now?

The group is £495, with the cost spread at checkout. It gives you the foundations, and you'll leave with around five recorded videos and a plan for the next few weeks. There are only six places, and if we don't reach three people, you get a full refund. One-to-one is £1,500 for ninety days, shaped entirely around what you're building.

If you're just starting out, the group is usually the better first step. If you already know what you're building and want to build it properly, choose one-to-one.

Still torn? Message me, tell me where you are and what you want, and I'll tell you honestly which one I'd suggest, even if it's the cheaper one.
